Mike Nolan has over 38 years’ experience working in the Food Industry both in manufacturing and retail industries. Mike’s expertise ranges from Farm to Fork. Having extensive expertise in H.A.C.C.P. and Food Safety Systems. With the introduction of the Food Safety Modernization Act, he has become a FSPCA Lead Instructor Certified to train individuals to meet the FSMA Preventive Controls for Human Food; PCQI qualification requirement.  He is currently a PCQI in Animal Food and Foreign Supplier Verification Program, soon to be a Lead Instructor. He is an instructor for H.A.C.C.P Certified Managers certified by the HACCP Alliance.  He has taught well over 35 classes, with 400 attendees.  He specializes in developing Food Safety Systems.

Mike was previously the Technical Director for ASI Food Safety Consulting, Mike was responsible for managing and supervising 24 auditors across the US and Canada.  These duties include reviewing all GMP audits & HACCP plans, calibration of auditors, answering technical questions from auditors and others.

He now is affiliated with SGS North America, the worlds largest Auditing, Consulting and Certifying body as a Senior Consultant.  Mike focuses on Training and Consulting.

Mike continues to own and operate Safe Consulting Services Inc., an independent consulting firm located in Bradenton, Florida. Mike has performed over 1000 food-processing audits from China to Maine. He has presented at the National Food Safety Conference in Washington, D.C and has been published in national magazines. Mike was previously the Plant Sanitarian at Tropicana prior to beginning his consulting career.  He recently was awarded the 2015 “Sanitarian of the Year” award presented by the Florida Association of Food Protection and IAFP affiliate. He is the 2005 recipient of the I.F.T.  “Sparkle Award” for Sanitation Excellence. Mike is an alumnus of Ohio State University and a former Vietnam era U.S. Marine.
